On July 22, Build+ welcomed an exclusive group of technology professionals to our Tokyo office for an evening with Global-e, the world's leading platform for cross-border e-commerce. Designed as an invite-only hiring event, the gathering brought together engineering leaders, hiring managers, and experienced technical talent to explore how technology is reshaping international retail.
With cross-border commerce continuing to accelerate across APAC, the event offered attendees a unique opportunity to hear directly from the people driving Global-e's regional growth while engaging in meaningful conversations beyond the traditional recruitment process.

The evening began with an opening address from Chad Lafferty, CEO of Build+, who welcomed guests and introduced the shared vision behind the event: creating meaningful connections between exceptional technical talent and innovative global companies expanding in Japan.
Global-e's leadership team then shared valuable insights into both the business and technical landscape of cross-border commerce.
Ran Almog, Managing Director for Japan & Korea, outlined Global-e's vision for the future of direct-to-consumer commerce, highlighting how the company is helping global brands deliver localized shopping experiences while simplifying the complexities of international expansion.
Mayu Kanki, VP of Sales, explored the unique characteristics of Japan's e-commerce market, discussing both the opportunities and challenges that businesses face when expanding into one of the world's most sophisticated consumer markets.
Finally, Aaron Jin, Director of JAPC Region Delivery, provided attendees with a behind-the-scenes look at the technical challenges Global-e solves every day. From large-scale integrations to complex platform architecture, his presentation demonstrated how engineering plays a central role in enabling seamless global commerce.
Panel Discussion and Networking
Following the presentations, the speakers joined Chad for a panel discussion covering emerging trends across global technology and e-commerce. Topics ranged from digital transformation and localization to the evolving technical skill sets needed to support rapidly growing international businesses.
The discussion naturally transitioned into an extended networking session, where attendees had the opportunity to speak directly with Global-e's engineering leaders and hiring managers. This leadership role is ideal for experienced technical professionals who enjoy combining solution architecture with customer engagement. The position focuses on leading a high-performing pre-sales engineering team, designing cross-border e-commerce solutions for enterprise clients, and partnering closely with sales to support strategic business growth throughout the region.
Delivery Solution Engineer
Delivery Solution Engineers oversee the post-sales implementation journey for new merchants joining the Global-e platform. The role involves conducting technical discovery, defining system integrations and data flows, and working cross-functionally to ensure successful platform deployments while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Implementation Engineer
Implementation Engineers serve as the technical foundation for merchant launches. Responsibilities include backend platform configuration, SQL optimization, API integration troubleshooting, and ensuring new merchants are successfully onboarded onto Global-e's platform. This position is well suited for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges while working directly with production systems.
